Posting Guilt

So... i hadn't updated for a good long while, and I was feeling pretty good about that.

Then, i clicked on my webstats and did a little digging-- there are still 9-10 different people who visit on a daily basis. (well, during the workweek at any rate) And one of them uses Mac OS X. (bless you!) And works at Apple. But... Mrs. Botany and Mrs. Cinematique aren't in the office at Apple right now, for a variety of reasons... which... naturally, confuses me.

But anyway. I thought i'd ramble for a bit, because i was flipping through my old entries, and they are a hoot to read. Especially the ones where i made stupid, bold, declarative statements. Not that i have any of those stored up.

Went to Buca di Beppo recently. 30+ people...! That was... uh... a lot. I hope Mr. BlingBling left a big tip-- the wait staff there are saints. They really are. We sat around, drinking our non-alcoholic Christian lemonades and waters, for a good hour before we ordered. I staggered home at 9ish, stuffed to the gills.

I've also gotten to hang out with people as they leave on their new life paths... new jobs, new schools, new cities. Depressing for me, but exciting for them. I'm hanging out with my discipleship guys, too. Now i understand why i felt so burnt-out and burdened by small group a few years back. Because i felt like i was discipling them, but i didn't have a discipleship mindset, or a discipleship heart for prayer towards them. That intellectual/spiritual disconnect made for bad times all around.

This time, though, it seems to be going very well. They don't want to talk about the reading. They want to talk about their hearts and knowing Christ. This is an incredibly humbling experience.

Mr. Kossack is back in the States. Come see him and that crazy monkey Mravery the weekend of the 14th down here in LA. I don't know what the plan is. But i'm sure it involves nerdery and off-color jokes about you-know-who. Oh no! There's a Shadowfist tournament on the 14th. Hmmm. Hrmmmmmmmm.

Been playing Vs., Spycraft, and German games lately. I played 'Fist at Comic-con. It was the first non-playtest i've played in probably 6 months. A blast, as always, with those crazy guys from San Diego. The other stuff, i've been playing with my brother a lot. He's a lot more fun than when we were fighting for the same pointless popularity circles in the 11th grade.

There's a deacon/elder shakeup at church. I think PD expects me to step up. He's already told Mr. Money that he expects him to step up. Mo' meetings, mo' problems.

And now... now i'm going home. And eating hummus and pita chips. Ha ha. Life is good when Mom buys the yuppie snacks from Trader Joe's.
