Eagles Lost

Graaargh! I know i was supposed to be cheering for the Patriots, because that makes watching these games fun.

But man, it was just heartwrenching to watch Phil as his team broke down. The Patriots didn't win Super Bowl XXXIX-- the Eagles lost it. The Eagles showed TERRIBLE clock management at the end of the game-- spending too much time getting to the line of scrimmage. Being in four-down territory, walking up to the line pinned deep, they should have just spiked the ball.... instead, showing a lack of preparation as the wideouts rushed from the wrong side of the huddle to line up at slot, failing to call a timeout before the two minute warning, forgetting to run out of bounds when Parry caught the short pass in the flat. And then deciding to try for the onside instead of the deep kick-- they know they needed a 3-and-out if they don't recover, so why not just kick deep? Terrible field position of the final possession. Failing to drive for the field goal with minutes left at the end of the first half was also a terrible mistake. At least call the timeouts and work the running back!

I know the so-called "best girl ever" thinks football is too slow, but this year's Super Bowl really was one of the best i've seen in recent years.

I'm so disappointed for Phil. Next year, man, next year.
