Provinces
I'm ever dismayed by how provincial we all are. Mrs. Botany is contemplating how best to manage a move from the Bay Area to SoCal. And, being surrounded by like-minded people (which is what we all do, and should do!), the sympathetic noddings and murmurings of SoCal's wretchedness and horridness are just so... well, dismaying! The same is true of most of us-- unwilling to live somewhere new, give something new a chance, leave our comfort zones and see how the other half lives in a concrete, engaging way, before dismissing and criticizing.
I'm notorious for this. I have a whole rickety house of sand-foundation assumptions, and every once in a while, someone kicks the last leg out from under one of them, and i have to go back and re-evaluate everything, just to be in integrity.
So God bless Allen Hege, Cavebear, Michael Lesneski, and Geoff "talonz" for coming to KublaCon this year. What a wonderful way to make or renew an acquaintance-- over a friendly game or three of Shadowfist.
KublaCon was soooooooooo much fun. I don't think i've ever had more fun outside of youth camp or playing Napoleon.
Vegas in two weeks. I'm calling out Unkie Monkey Max, Jan the Maligner, and Earl, at a minimum, to invade Vegas with us.
I also ate Zachary's. And Thai salad. Yum.
