So, i got Joel on Software for Christmas, and i've been devouring it over the last two or three days.

If you work in software or programming, it comes highly recommended. If you used to work in software or programming, it comes highly recommended. It's been a real kick in the pants for me to realize that there are things that are extremely busted about the way i program, the way i influence my workplace, and the way i organized my time. I've enjoyed every minute of it.

If you aspire to work in software or programming, skip it and come back after you have had a few years of hard, embittering experience. Like Office Space, you Just Won't Get It.
