Heading out

Dear everyone and your dog,

I'm going on vacation. 4 days in New York, 3 back at work, 4 days at KublaCon in San Francisco, 1 day back at work, 4 days in Orlando for JAM.

You can send me mail, but i probably won't answer unless it's urgent. Better off calling. Speaking of which. I'd better go pack that phone charger...

My prayer support letter for this summer is coming. I would love to mail it out and post it here before i leave, but we'll see how tomorrow goes. For now, i need to finish packing.

God has been really faithful. Actually, i guess, not any more or less faithful than usual, but i have been more conscious of the power of His promises and providence in my life. I'm still scared, uncertain, disappointed, but i am also encouraged, compelled, and full of hope. Here are some promises i've seen fulfilled: study the Word, and grow. Pray for the college group, and watch them go. Watch those secular relationships blossom.

Here are some promises i'm still waiting on: Mom and Mr. Summercamp's salvation. Family retreat for San Gabriel. Judging a high-level Versus event. Moving on. Finding the perfect combination of 10 prayer partners who will be blessed as much as they are a blessing for this summer.

I am missing Alice and David's wedding for this trip. Better be worth it. However, as they say, by the time we are done "tearing up" New York, perhaps they will be wearing shirts that say "I [heart] [scrappykid] and [Mr. Guitar]."
