Stephenson
Just finished taking a break from my workday to read: Slashdot | Neal Stephenson Responds With Wit and Humor. Neal was entertaining as usual.
Wednesday is comic book day. Picked up the new Identity Crisis, as well as some backissues of Conan, and the Hush trade paperback. Next week, i'll go back for the Teen Titans trade.
I'm voting early today. Although i have my misgivings about touchscreen voting, i'd rather be part of the guinea pigs than the masses on this one. Besides, i'd be very surprised if any of the ballot measures this year win or lose in California by a margin thinner than the number of early voters in LA county.
Those of you who aren't voting, i never want to hear you gripe about health care, the condition of the roads, the war in Iraq, or the price of gas. Ever. If you do, i'll hit you in the face.
The rest of you, gripe at will. It is your, uh, Constitutionally-protected right.
From Oswald Chambers:
"The key to the missionary’s devotion is that he is attached to nothing and to no one except our Lord Himself. It does not mean simply being detached from the external things surrounding us. Our Lord was amazingly in touch with the ordinary things of life, but He had an inner detachment except toward God. External detachment is often an actual indication of a secret, growing, inner attachment to the things we stay away from externally."
