Part of the skill of being a good blogger is to write regularly, and often. Monday nights are often my night to get caught up on chores and projects, and just be at home. There's no better night to write.

I spent the weekend in Las Vegas with several of my buddies. It's kind of challenging for me to spend time with such artsy, creative folks. I always feel sooooooooo out of my depth as they talk about cool music/DJ's, artsy film, and The Venture Bros. In fact, the only things i can reference are nerd-tastic nerd culture, like the G4 Star Trek promotions on youtube. And i don't even like Star Trek.

It's so good to get out of my bubble, though. Between the time i spend with my friends who play Vs. (Chinese), my friends from church (Chinese), my family (not surprisingly, Chinese), and my prayer group at work (mostly Chinese), sometimes i forget my roots. Growing up in San Dimas, one does not easily forget the simple pleasures of showering in the morning, drinking beverages during the meal instead of after, and blowing $40 on a la carte menu items when the all-you-can-eat special is a mere $25.

I am also woefully insensitive. I think the more i think i've gotten better at this, the worse i actually get.

I'll never gripe about water conservation in LA again. Low-flow showerheads were appropriately conservative given the dryness of the Nevada desert. My lungs are still recovering. That will teach me to drink four Cokes in eight hours. Even if Coke in the can is sooooooo good.

So good.
